What did Salman Khan say in his plea?
In his plea, the 60-year-old actor claimed that the film is inspired by the 1998 blackbuck poaching case involving him. He stated that the film’s poster, teaser and promotional material clearly identify him.
He further alleged that the makers used a lookalike wearing a signature bracelet and promoted the project using his name for commercial gain. The actor has also argued that the film could prejudice ongoing legal proceedings and cause irreparable harm to his reputation and goodwill.
The petition names producer Amit Jani, Jani Firefox Films, Akshay Pandey, and others. Salman has further sought an injunction against the film’s production, promotion, release, streaming and circulation of the film and its promotional material.
The Delhi Court is scheduled to hear the interim injunction application.
