Kumkum Bhagya actress Sanchita Ugale dies by suicide at 30 – Last Instagram reel goes viral
New Delhi: TV actress Sanchita Ugale, best known for Kumkum Bhagya and Diwali Dulha Le Jayegi, had died by suicide, according to a report by TellyChakkar. She was 30. However, the reason behind her taking the drastic step has not been revealed yet.
Hours before her death, the actress shared a happy and cheerful video on Instagram where she is seen dancing and enjoying herself.
Sanchita Ugale dies by suicide
According to police officials, the incident took place on June 14 at her residence in Sai Santoshi Building in Aachole Village, Nalasapora East. Vinod Bagh, Assistant Police Inspector of Achole Police, said that the actress had locked herself inside the bedroom and allegedly hanged herself from a ceiling fan using a saree between 7 pm and 7:30 pm.
Family members and local residents rushed her to Vasai-Vihar Municipal Hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. After receiving the information about the suicide, police reached the spot and carried out necessary procedures, including preparation of the inquest report, before the body was taken for post-mortem.
Based on Sanchita’s father Macchhindra Ugale’s complaint, police registered an Accidental Death Report under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita on June 15. Police have said that the exact reason for the suicide has not been determined. Authorities are investigating the matter from all angles and further probe is underway.

In her last Instagram post, she can be seen dressed in a pink suit set teamed up with makeup and jewellery. In the reel, she happily dances to the song ‘Dafli Wale Dafli Baja’, holding a camera in her hand.

Who was Sanchita Ugale?
Actress Sanchita Ugale gained recognition after her work in TV serial Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya. She also appeared in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, where she played Sukoon. She also featured in Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, where she played Tarabai. She also featured in Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout, starring Manoj Bajpayee.

In 2025, Sanchita expressed her grief over the suicide of social media influencer Misha Agarwal, who reportedly ended her life featuring end of her career after a drop in followers.
Sanchita then termed the incident as “heart-wrenching” and wrote, “I am heartbroken to see how easily young people think about their lives.”
