 The family of 15-year-old talented batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar expressed happiness over his selection in the Indian T20 team for the series against Ireland and England, saying that his hard work is now paying off.
Suryavanshi was selected in the Indian team on Saturday. He has become the youngest player to make a place in the Indian team at the age of 15 years and 71 days. If he gets a chance to play, he will break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of playing international cricket at the youngest age for India.

Suryavanshi, who hails from Tajpur in Samastipur district, will be part of the Indian team that will tour Ireland for two T20 Internationals (June 26 and June 28). After this, this team will play a five-match T20 International series against England from July 1 to 11.
Vaibhav’s father Sanjeev Suryavanshi told reporters, “The hard work he has done since childhood is now bearing fruit.
Getting a chance to play for the country is a big achievement. My wish has been fulfilled today.”
He thanked the selectors for reposing faith in his son and said that the young cricketer “now just needs to live up to that trust.”
Vaibhav’s grandmother Usha Singh said, “It is a matter of great joy for us that my grandson is about to achieve the feat of playing for the senior Indian team.”

Vaibhav’s uncle Rajeev Suryavanshi said that his selection has created an atmosphere of happiness and enthusiasm in the entire country.
He said, “What more could we have expected?” I express my gratitude to the selectors and congratulate Vaibhav for this historic achievement.”
It was almost certain that Suryavanshi would join the team, because Playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, he scored 776 runs at a strike rate of 237.30, which included one century and five half-centuries.
