Sanjay Manjrekar believes that Indian team’s young batsman Shubman Gill had a stronger cricketing base to captain the T20 team for a long time. However, according to him, the circumstances of the team composition created obstacles in Gill’s way and that is why the selectors have decided to give the responsibility of captaincy to Shreyas Iyer.
