Williamson, 35, finished his career as New Zealand’s leading run-scorer in international cricket with 19,346 runs (which included 48 centuries and six double centuries). Williamson’s retirement means he will not play any further in the Blackcaps’ current Test series in England; The name of the player replacing him will be decided later. Apart from his impressive statistics, Williamson’s captaincy and leadership style were also highly praised.
