Jabalpur News: A very sensational and heart-wrenching case has come to light from Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Just a day after the death under suspicious circumstances of Neha Singh, resident of New Kanchanpur in Aadhartal police station area, the body of her husband Mayank Singh Chauhan was found hanging in the ruins of the old VFJ quarter of Shobhapur in Ranjhi police station area. Now the most important link in this double death case has become the 8 year old innocent son of the deceased couple and the suicide note left by Mayank.
This horrifying incident started when the landlord informed the police after a strong foul smell came from a rented house in New Kanchanpur. When Aadhartal police reached the spot, Neha Singh’s body was found lying on the ground inside the house. Prima facie the case seemed suspicious and the police started investigation by sending the body for post-mortem. Neha’s husband Mayank Singh was missing from the spot. During investigation, the police came to know that Mayank had fled leaving his moped. Later, a rope, suicide note and an application written against his wife were recovered from his moped. The very next day, Mayank’s body was found hanging in the old ruined VFJ quarter located in Shobhapur of Ranjhi police station area.
8 year old innocent son told a horrifying story
The most shocking information in the police investigation was given by the 8 year old son of the deceased couple as an eyewitness. The child told that there was a huge dispute between his parents on the night of June 3. According to her, during the dispute Mayank had picked up a knife, on which Neha told him that she would commit suicide herself. According to the child, after this Mayank prepared a noose in the room. When Neha was standing on the table with a noose around her neck, Mayank pushed the table with his foot. Gave. After some time, he cut the rope and brought Neha down but by then she had died. However, the police is connecting the links of the entire incident on the basis of the child’s statement, post-mortem report and other evidence.
Suicide note confesses murder, accuses sister-in-law of torture
In the suicide note found by the police, Mayank has written that he himself has murdered his wife Neha and no other person should be held responsible for this. In the note he also wrote that he was mentally disturbed for a long time. She has made serious allegations of harassing her sister-in-law and aunt-in-law. In the suicide note, Mayank also expressed his wish that his insurance amount should be given to his son and the child should be taken care of by his father (grandfather). In the application received by the police, Mayank had also mentioned about mental, physical and financial torture by his wife. He was about to give this application to the police but before that this entire incident happened.

There was a dispute regarding working in spa center, both of them had second marriage.
Investigation has also revealed that this was the second marriage of both Neha and Mayank. Neha’s first husband had died and she has a son from her first marriage. Neha and Mayank met about two years ago at a wedding ceremony, after which both of them got married. According to the police, Neha was found there in January 2025 during a police action at a spa center located in Vijay Nagar. After this, disputes between husband and wife started increasing considerably. Mayank did not want Neha to work in the spa center, whereas Neha wanted to continue working due to financial reasons. Later she also started working in Indore, due to which the tension between the two reached its peak.
Ranjhi police station in-charge Umesh Golhani Told that Mayank’s body was found hanging and suicide note and application were recovered from him. Aadhartal and Ranjhi police are jointly investigating the entire matter. Police say that many important facts can come to light on the basis of post-mortem report, FSL investigation and other evidence. At present this double death has put the entire family in deep shock.
