Big earthquake in Bengal politics! 20 rebel MPs of TMC made this unknown party a ‘superpower’ overnight, know what is the Tripura connection

TMC Rebel MPs Merge NCPI: The most sensational and shocking news of this time is coming out from the politics of West Bengal. The party which was unknown for a long time in the politics of Bengal and Tripura, which no one even knew, has suddenly come to the center of national politics. The name of this very small and unknown political party registered with the Election Commission came into limelight when 20 rebel MPs of Trinamool Congress (TMC) decided to join this party together. After this big upset, there is panic in the political circles and experts believe that this development will completely overturn the politics of Bengal.
Election history may be empty, but legal recognition becomes the biggest shield
If we look at the electoral history of NCPI, it has never been influential, but its registration with the Election Commission (EC) has proved to be its biggest USP at this time. This party is duly registered with the Election Commission under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. However, technically it still has the status of ‘registered unrecognized political party’. This simply means that the party has every right to do politics legally, even if it does not have the required votes and seats to become a state or national party. Experts say that due to this legal recognition, the rebel MPs of TMC chose this party, so that they could clearly avoid the legal complications and action of the Anti-Defection Law.
Headquartered in Howrah, but real strength and activity in Tripura!
If we scrutinize the official records of the Election Commission, it is found that the head office of NCPI is at Sankrail in Howrah district of West Bengal. Is in the area. But the interesting thing is that the real political ground and electoral activities of this party have always been in Tripura. This party had also fielded two of its candidates in the Tripura Assembly elections of 2023, although they could not get any success then. Apart from Tripura, this party had tried to register its political presence by raising the issues of Bengali speaking communities living in certain areas of Assam.
There is no fixed symbol like BJP-Congress, a new symbol has to be chosen every time.
Another surprising thing about NCPI is that this party does not have any permanent or fixed election symbol. Just like BJP has the reserve symbol of ‘Lotus’ and Congress has the reserve symbol of ‘Hath’, similarly this party does not have it because according to the rules of the Election Commission, reserve symbols are available only to recognized parties. Being an unrecognized party, NCPI has to choose one election symbol from the list of ‘free symbols’ issued by the Election Commission in every new election.
Rebel leaders got a new home, now the entire structure of the party will change
According to political pundits, the real value of NCPI is determined not by its votes but by its legal existence. This small party, which remained in the darkness of anonymity for years, has now become a strong and safe political platform for the MPs who rebelled against Mamata Banerjee’s TMC. Now when powerful leaders are joining this party on such a large scale, it is believed that in the coming days, there will be a major reshuffle in the party’s organization, big posts and leadership. Even though NCPI has not yet met the stringent standards of the Election Commission It may have been done, but this great upheaval has proved that at any time in Indian politics, even a small and unknown party can become a base for big warriors and shake the politics of the entire country.
