Absolutely not tolerable…To whom did Trump give a direct warning regarding the attack on Indian ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz?
US President Donald Trump on Friday accused Iran of unsuccessfully trying to attack Indian ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz with drones. Referring to this alleged incident, Trump said that his drone attack on Indian ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz last night was a complete failure and this action is not acceptable at all. The US President did not provide any evidence to support this claim nor did he say which ships he was talking about. Till the time of writing the news, Iranian officials had not responded to this allegation. The incident comes at a time when three oil tankers carrying dozens of Indian sailors have become stranded in the recent US military operations in the area. On June 8, US forces sank the Palau-flagged tanker ‘Marivex’, which had 24 Indian crew members on board. All of them were rescued safely.
Two days later, another Palau-flagged tanker, ‘Setebelo’, was attacked by the US. There were 24 Indian sailors on board the ship, three of whom died in the attack. A third tanker, ‘Jalveer’, which was sailing under the Guinea-Bissau flag and carrying 20 Indian crew members, was also attacked. In a post on ‘Truth Social’ he also claimed that Iran had leaked misinformation about the ongoing talks and said that Tehran’s public statements did not mention the terms agreed upon between the two sides. Trump wrote, the conditions that Iran has given to ‘fake news’ have nothing to do with the conditions decided in writing.
He also criticized Iran’s comments about a possible deal, saying they had nothing to do with the truth. And accused Tehran of not negotiating honestly. Trump ended his message with a warning to Tehran, saying, “They must mend their ways as soon as possible!”
