French Open 2026: Teenager Andreeva beats Chwalinska to win maiden Grand Slam title
New Delhi: Russian eighth seed Mirra Andreeva defeated Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 to win the French Open women’s singles title and clinch her maiden Grand Slam on Saturday, June 6, in Paris. The 19-year-old became the first teenager to win the French Open title since Pole Iga Swiatek in 2020. She also became the first Russian woman to win a Grand Slam since Maria Sharapova clinched the French Open title in 2014.
