Train delayed, passenger’s pocket picked up! TC charged Rs 500 when platform ticket expired, debate erupted

These days, a new controversy is raging regarding Indian Railways. The matter is such that people are asking, will the general public also bear the punishment of train being late? In fact, a case has come to light from Kalyan Junction in Maharashtra which has sparked a big debate on the internet regarding railway rules.
Aditya Chauhan, a resident of Bihar, had come to drop his family at Kalyan station. The train was at 12 noon. Initially we came to know that the train was late by 2 hours, but soon it got delayed by 5 hours. Now it was not possible to leave the family alone, so Aditya stayed at the station itself. Then a ticket collector (TC) came there and asked for the platform ticket from Aditya. Aditya showed the ticket. But TC said, it has expired, because this ticket is valid only for 2 hours. You should have taken another ticket. In the end, TC cited the rules and issued a challan of Rs 500 to Aditya.
Whose fault is it? Railway or passenger?
Angered by this, Aditya shared the video of the entire incident and the photo of the challan on his Instagram account @adityasinghchauhan01, which is now going viral on the internet. He asked the Railways, does Rs 500 come for free? When the train is late because of the Railways, why should I pay the fine? As soon as this video went viral, a debate broke out on the internet about the fault of the railways or the passenger.
Well, if seen legally, TC is absolutely right in its place. According to railway rules, platform ticket is valid only for 2 hours. After this you either buy a new ticket or leave the platform. TC was just doing his duty.
Public anger erupted on the internet
At the same time, social media users are justifying the passenger on the basis of morality. what people say That when the train was delayed by 5 hours due to the negligence of the Railways, how can any person leave his family alone at the station and go out? Angry people say that this is the railway’s fault, so why should the public pay its compensation? People are asking that if the Railways can immediately collect the fine when the platform ticket expires, then why the passengers did not get the refund of the fine as quickly when the train was delayed by hours? Netizens are demanding that Railways should immediately change its rules in such cases. Click here to see the video.

Train delayed, passenger's pocket picked up! TC charged Rs 500 when platform ticket expired, debate erupted

Platform ticket = Rs 10
Ticket expires after 2 hours
Train was late = 5 hours
Fine imposed = Rs 500
This is Indian Railways…will not give refund if train is late..but will recover full fine
In Modi rule, consider paying fine as a contribution to the national interest.. pic.twitter.com/p06vHYx9QW
