Even the mehendi had not been removed from her hands, just 13 days after the marriage the bride’s dead body was found hanging in her in-laws’ house.

Palamu News: A very painful and shocking incident has come to light from Palamu district of Jharkhand. Here, just 13 days after the marriage, the dead body of a newly married woman was found hanging in her house. Sensation has spread in the area after the incident. The deceased’s maternal family has made serious allegations against the in-laws of torturing her for dowry, killing her and hanging her body.
This case is of Tukabera village of Nawabazar police station area. On Saturday, the dead body of the married woman was found hanging from a noose inside the house. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police of Nawabazar police station immediately reached the spot and took the body into their custody. Police have sent the body to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital (MMCH). Considering the sensitivity of the matter, a medical board of doctors has been constituted and postmortem of the body has been done.
Allegation of harassment for bike
The deceased has been identified as Khushboo Kumari, resident of Korami village of Naudiha Bazar police station area. Khushboo was married with great pomp to Shravan Kumar, a resident of Tukabera village, on 24th May last month. The deceased’s brother Ravindra Kumar told in his statement to the police that this marriage was solemnized without any tilak or dowry. Both the families were happy with this relationship.

But after a few days of marriage, the complexion of the in-laws started changing. It is alleged that the husband and other members of the in-laws started demanding a bike. After not getting the bike, Khushboo started being harassed physically and mentally continuously. The brother alleges that due to his failure to fulfill this demand, his sister was brutally murdered and the body was hanged to make the case look like a suicide.
Police action and investigation
The parents asked the police administration to investigate this entire matter impartially. Has appealed to give the harshest punishment to those guilty of murder and Khushboo’s death. Police officials say that a case has been registered. Police is investigating from every angle. According to officials, further legal action will be taken on the basis of postmortem report and written application of the family members.
