Lottery of government employees! There will be huge increase in salary due to 8th Pay Commission, last chance is till tonight

A major development is underway for central government employees and pensioners. If you or a family member works in government service, this news will directly impact your household finances and bank balance. The 8th Pay Commission, established to enhance salaries and allowances for government employees nationwide, has now gained significant momentum. The Commission is currently conducting continuous meetings with various employee organizations, pensioners, and staff associations across the country.

According to inside reports, the Commission has only 11 months remaining to prepare its final report. The decisions made by this new Pay Commission will directly affect the financial security of millions of families throughout the country. Most importantly, today—June 15, 2026—marks the final deadline to submit your demands and suggestions to the Commission. Following this date, Commission officials will begin visiting states across the country.

Deadline Ending Tonight: State-Level Discussions Begin

The 8th Pay Commission’s deadline for employees and pensioners to present their views and grievances expires today. The submission deadline for suggestions regarding the Commission’s memorandum was extended to June 15, 2026. This extension gave numerous employee organizations a valuable opportunity to present their demands forcefully to the government.

Starting after today, the Commission team will visit state capitals to assess ground realities and understand local concerns. According to the planned schedule, the Commission will first visit Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on June 22 and 23, 2026. Subsequently, major meetings will be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on July 6 and 7, 2026, followed by Kolkata, West Bengal on July 9 and 10, 2026. A high-level meeting was previously conducted in May 2026.

Final Report Timeline and Salary Implementation

The Central Government approved the 8th Pay Commission in January 2025. The Cabinet subsequently approved its Terms of Reference on October 28, 2025, and the Commission’s official functioning began on November 3, 2025. According to regulations, the Commission must submit its final report within 18 months of commencing work, which means by May 2027.

Based on historical records of previous pay commissions, full implementation of recommendations may take until 2029. However, central employees can take comfort in knowing that whenever implementation occurs, all arrears will be paid retroactively from January 1, 2026.

Understanding the Fitment Factor: The Real Salary Multiplier

Many employees mistakenly believe salary increases come solely from Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) adjustments. In reality, DA only compensates for rising inflation. The government increased DA by 2 percent in April 2026, bringing it to 60 percent of basic pay. The substantial salary jump actually comes from the “fitment factor,” a crucial multiplier applied to your current basic salary to calculate your new salary.

The fitment factor was 1.86 under the Sixth Pay Commission and increased to 2.57 under the Seventh Pay Commission. This time, major organizations including the Railway Technical Supervisors Association and NC-JCM have requested a fitment factor of 3.83 from the government. The Commission has stated that final approval will be granted only after completing nationwide discussions.

Potential Salary Increases by Grade Level

If the government accepts employee organizations’ demands, central employees will see substantial increases in their monthly take-home salaries. The following projections illustrate potential changes across different grade levels:

Level 1 (Entry-Level Employees): The current minimum basic salary is Rs 18,000. With a fitment factor of 3.83, this would increase directly to Rs 69,000.

Level 10 (Officer Category): Under the 7th Pay Commission, the current minimum basic salary is Rs 56,100. After applying the new fitment factor, this amount could reach Rs 2.15 lakh.

Level 18 (Senior Officers): The current basic salary for top-level officers stands at Rs 2.5 lakh. Once a coefficient of 3.83 is applied, their new basic salary could become Rs 9.6 lakh per month.
