Potholes scar NH stretch

Joda: Deterioration of the service road near Nayara petrol pump in Joda Ranasal, located on National Highway 520, has resulted in massive potholes that are severely disrupting traffic. As one of the region’s busiest transit corridors connecting the vital Joda mining area, the highway’s current condition poses a significant safety hazard, frequently causing traffic gridlock and accidents. Immediate repairs are urgently required to restore smooth vehicle movement and ensure commuter safety.

Every day, thousands of heavy mineral trucks from Joda and Koida mining zones share this vital corridor with local school buses and commuters. However, severe neglect has left one side of the service road entirely unusable. Forcing all traffic onto a single remaining lane, this bottleneck creates severe daily congestion and safety hazards for the local community.

Rainwater accumulating in potholes poses a severe hazard, frequently causing accidents for two-wheelers like bikes and scooters. Attempts to fill these craters with soil only worsen the situation, as the dirt transforms into thick mud during downpours, compounding traffic congestion and delays.

Despite repeated demands, residents say the authorities have ignored requests to repair the potholed service road. Locals are urging the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to fix the stretch immediately.
