Noida: Unauthorised car enters society during Dandiya night, hits parked vehicles

New Delhi: In a serious breach of security reported from Amrapali Zodiac Society in Noida’s Sector 120, a car without a number plate and with tinted glasses entered the premises and hit several vehicles. The incident happened while a ‘Dandiya Night’ was on at the society.

NDTV quoting some unconfirmed social media reports said that 3 people were injured in the incident.

The incident happened at around midnight on October 17. After the car entered the premises, some residents reportedly tried to stop it, but the driver sped away. In his attempt to flee he also hit several vehicles and also some of the society residents gathered there. In the melee several of the parked vehicles were damaged, said eyewitnesses.

Soon after the society residents caught the driver and other occupants of the car. There was a physical altercation between the 2 groups. The society residents raised strong objections to an unauthorised vehicle entering the society without permission. They raised concerns regarding safety.

Following the incident, around 100 society residents gathered outside the Sector 113 police station and demanded action. Following efforts of the Apartment Owner’s Association and the Noida Highrise Federation, an FIR was registered in the matter.

The details of the incident however remain sketchy. It is not yet confirmed if the car driver who entered the premises was the only one at fault or were society residents also involved.

This is not the first time that the Amrapali Zodiac Society is in the news. In November 2022, a man accused of rape, who was trying to flee the police, had run over a security guard here.
