Dharmendra Pradhan Accused Rahul Gandhi Of Using Students As Political Tools

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan accused Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and the Congress of exploiting students as a political tool on Tuesday in his first statement following the clash of protestors and police on Cockroach Janta Party demonstrators during the “Chalo Sansad” march.

Pradhan claimed that rather than seeking to address issues related to the NEET paper leak situation, the Congress was trying to cause trouble during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

The Union minister said in a post on X that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress had protested outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence even though the government had indicated that they were willing to undertake a thorough discussion regarding the NEET issue in Parliament. He mentioned, “LoP Shri Rahul Gandhi and INC continue to shamelessly exploit students as political tools to manufacture disruption during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.”

Pradhan asserted that the Congress opted for “political spectacle over democratic debate” even after the government expressed its willingness to address the NEET issue. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi was trying to create conflict even though the government was providing channels for communication.

Pradhan stated that Congress goal was never solutions for students, it was a disruption to make political headlines. He accused Rahul Gandhi of using students as ‘political props.’

He remarked “The students of India deserve far better than being treated as props in a political campaign. They deserve certainty over chaos, solutions over slogans and responsibility over disruption.”

The minister went on to say that the government owed students “answers, reforms and accountability” and that the administration was still dedicated to improving the examination system.

Meanwhile, Rahul, Priyanka, Akhilesh Yadav, the head of the Samajwadi Party, and a number of other opposition leaders marched towards Lok Kalyan Marg on July 21 to condemn the police action during the CJP demonstration, ‘Sansad Chalo’ prompting the government’s response.

The protest was further joined by a number of other Congress MPs and prominent figures, such as Kerala Chief Minister VD Satheesan and Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.
