Education system must adapt to changes: Prof. Sadagopan
Bengaluru: “In the present situation where technology and artificial intelligence are developing rapidly, the education system must also adapt to new changes,” said Prof. S Sadagopan, Founder Director of the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B).

Speaking after conferring degrees on students at the convocation ceremony organised by BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE), Basavanagudi, he said, “Artificial intelligence will bring significant changes in the fields of education and employment in the coming days. However, AI cannot completely replace human intelligence. Creativity, critical thinking and human values will always remain important.”
“Educational institutions should provide greater encouragement to research, entrepreneurship and innovation. It is the responsibility of the youth to contribute to the development of the country by using technology for the betterment of society,” he said.
BMSCE Principal Dr Bheemsha Arya, speaking on the occasion, said, “Your knowledge will increase your self-confidence. Good behaviour will earn you respect. The contribution you make to society will bring meaning to your life. You are stepping into a competitive era. There will be both success and failure. May God bless you with the strength to face everything courageously,” he wished the students.
A total of 1,822 students were awarded engineering degrees on the occasion.
BMSCE Governing Council Chairman Aviram Sharma, Vice-Principal Dr D Sheshalachalam, Dean Dr Jyothi S Nayak and others were present.
