Chhattisgarh: Man stabs girlfriend to death over infidelity suspicions

New Delhi:  A 19-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her boyfriend at a public park in Chhattisgarh’s Surajpur district on Sunday evening after the man accused her of talking to someone else. The incident reportedly took place at around 8:00 PM at Nehru Park, located within the limits of the Surajpur police station.

According to police officials, the victim, Radhika Rajwade, was visiting the park with her 23-year-old boyfriend, Ritesh Rajwade, when they began fighting. Ritesh reportedly suspected Radhika of being unfaithful. During the argument, Ritesh pulled out a knife, stabbed Radhika multiple times in the neck, and fled the park on a motorcycle ,He said.

The official said, People nearby rushed the injured teenager to the local district hospital. Doctors referred her to Ambikapur Medical College for better care, but she died on the way.

He said  that senior police officers inspected the crime scene, reviewed CCTV footage from the park and surrounding areas, and set up multiple teams to track down the suspect. he official said, Within a few hours, officers surrounded a forest area in Pidha and arrested Ritesh. During questioning, Ritesh confessed to the murder, stating he killed her out of suspicion.

The official added, A formal case has been registered, and further legal proceedings are currently underway.
