After iPhone 18 Pro, Apple Could Launch the ‘HomePad,’ a Siri AI-Powered Smart Home Display

Apple may finally be ready to enter the smart display market. After years of rumours, the company is reportedly preparing to launch its first smart home display—popularly known as the “HomePad”—in October, following the launch of the iPhone 18 series in September. The device is expected to compete with rivals like Amazon’s Echo Show and Google’s Nest Hub while expanding Apple’s presence in the smart home ecosystem.

According to a famous publication, Apple is planning to launch a smart display in October but the official announcement might be pushed back to late 2026 or early 2027 if the development takes more time than expected. The device got delay because Apple is working on a new version of its Siri AI. This new Siri AI is supposed to be, behind many of the device’s features.

What to Expect from Apple’s HomePad

The upcoming smart home display is rumoured to feature a square 7-inch panel and run on a new operating system based on tvOS. The interface is expected to resemble those of iOS and watchOS, offering app grids, widgets, and icons for easy navigation.

The main thing about this thing from Apple is that it will have the new Siri artificial intelligence. This device will let people make video calls control their homes watch what is happening on their security cameras play music and videos and talk to other Apple devices. It can also make the screen look different, for each person who uses it by changing the size of the text the pictures and how things are laid out. Apple is trying to make its smart home products better.

Apple Expands Its Smart Home Ambitions

The HomePad is reportedly part of a broader strategy by Apple to strengthen its smart home product portfolio. In addition to the smart display, the company is said to be developing a new Apple TV, an updated HomePod mini, and its own smart security camera to compete with products like Amazon Ring. There are also reports suggesting that Apple is working on a more advanced smart home device featuring a robotic arm and a display, although this product is expected to arrive later. For now, the HomePad could mark Apple’s first major move into the smart display category, offering users already within the Apple ecosystem a new way to control their connected devices from a single screen.
