WhatsApp adds three new features to make group chats less chaotic

WhatsApp is making group chats a little easier to deal with. They just put out a blog post about some features that can help people make decisions faster and keep important messages from getting lost in the conversation. WhatsApp already had some of these features like the “@all” thing and polls. Now they are making these features better and it is easier to start a new group chat, from an old one. WhatsApp is really trying to make group chats.

WhatsApp adds smarter polls and “@all” mentions

WhatsApp is making polls more useful because of three updates. People can now choose an end time for a poll and, after that time voting stops automatically. This is helpful when a group needs to make a choice before a time.

The company also allows users to hide voters’ names in polls. This means other group members cannot see who voted for which option, making it easier for people to share their preferences without worrying about others’ reactions.

You can also change the questions on a poll if you do it within 15 minutes of making it. This is really helpful if you notice a spelling mistake or if the poll question is not clear. You can fix the poll question without having to make a new poll. This way you can make sure the poll question is just right.

Another important new feature is the “@all” mention. In large groups with more than 32 members, the “@all” option will be available only to administrators. WhatsApp also notes that users can control how they receive these notifications and mute “@all” alerts notification settings.

Creating a new WhatsApp group from an existing one

WhatsApp is making it easier for people to have talks within a big group. Now people can make a new group chat with some people from a group with just one tap. They do not have to add each person one by one, which is really helpful. WhatsApp and group chats are getting better.

This is really helpful when a big group of people need to have a conversation on their own. For example, a group of people planning a surprise party can create a chat, for the people who are planning the surprise party. This way the people who are planning the surprise party can talk to each other without disturbing the rest of the group who are not planning the surprise party. People who are working together on an event can also move their conversation to a group so they do not interrupt the main conversation. WhatsApp says that these new features are added to things they started doing with group chats earlier this year. These things include being able to see what people said before being able to mention someone’s name in a message and being able to remind people about events on WhatsApp.
