‘Rahul Gandhi a habitual liar’: BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan accuses Congress of spreading lies
New Delhi: Former Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday took a jibe at Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, calling him a “habitual liar.” He also did not spare Gandhi’s political party, the Congress and accused it of “shedding crocodile tears” over students’ concerns.
The remarks came at a time when students in Jharkhand are protesting against paper leaks and irregularities in competitive examinations. The Congress party is in alliance with the state’s ruling party, which is headed by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). The state government is currently headed by Hemant Soren, from the JMM.

Meanwhile, Pradhan who was forced to step down as the Education Minister of the country, following massive student protests over the NEET 2026 paper leak, took to social media platform, ‘X’, to attack Gandhi. In a post he accused the Congress of “continuously spreading lies.” He further said that Rahul Gandhi “lacks facts.”

Pradhan went on to state that Gandhi does not want to come to Parliament and neither does he want to listen to answers. He accused both Gandhi and the Congress Party of making “baseless, factless false accusations” against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said that this showed their political desperation.
Pradhan claimed that the government was ready for discussion on every issue, but Gandhi and the Congress Party were obstructing the temple of democracy ‘Parliament House’ and crushing the interests of the country and the youth. He said that this party prioritizes their own interests and not that of the country. He also accused the Congress of creating chaos in the House, as they do not have the capacity to listen to answers.
Congress democracy ‘selective’: Pradhan
Pradhan then went on to say that the Congress Party’s democracy was “selective.” He said, “violence against youth where they are in government, and lies and commotion where they want to shine politically.”
He then went on to attack Rahul Gandhi saying, ” The brutality against students in Jharkhand has been witnessed by the entire country. But the question is, why is Rahul Gandhi, who holds press conferences on every issue, maintaining silence today?”
He said that the youth in India fully understood the “duplicitous character” of the Congress Party. He accused Gandhi and the Congress of operating on the mindset of the Emergency era and said that they were in favour of a dictatorship. He warned the Opposition leader and his party that “there was no place for dictatorship in a democracy.”
