Mann Ki Baat a pilgrimage, says PM Modi as he renews ‘Vocal for Local’ call

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday described his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat as a pilgrimage and renewed his call to promote ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.

Addressing its 139th episode, Modi said the programme had helped him understand and celebrate the work of people committed to India’s development. He recalled that the journey began 12 years ago on Vijayadashmi.

Connecting with the nation

“Through Mann Ki Baat, I am paying obeisance to the collective strength of our nation — Lok-Shakti. The programme gives me an opportunity to connect with every family across the country. Many listeners share that they feel as though I am amidst them, like a member of their own family, engaging in a conversation. This deep connection and your affection are a priceless treasure for me,” he said.

Modi said the platform offered an opportunity to recognise the dedication and hard work of people who serve society.
