Bigg Boss 20: Rohit Shetty confronts housemates over their strategies; Mary Kom’s eviction leaves contestants stunned
Mumbai: A dramatic turn of events unfolded inside the Bigg Boss 20 house as filmmaker Rohit Shetty reviewed the contestants’ performances, questioned their decisions and offered advice on navigating the competition. The episode featured difficult conversations about friendships, personal conduct and changing alliances, before an unexpected rule change brought Mary Kom’s journey to an end.

ScoutOP’s decisions come under scrutiny
ScoutOP became one of the first contestants to face questions from Shetty, who expressed disappointment over his approach to the captaincy challenge. Given his experience in competitive gaming, Shetty expected him to demonstrate better judgement while choosing potential captains.
Explaining his actions, ScoutOP said he had wanted to give housemates without previous captaincy experience an opportunity. However, he admitted that uncertainty during the selection process influenced his final decisions.
Attention subsequently turned to his relationship with Love. Shetty discussed their affectionate interactions, particularly instances involving massages beneath a blanket, and highlighted the possibility of audiences drawing different conclusions from what they watched.
ScoutOP maintained that their interactions were innocent. Nevertheless, Shetty encouraged the pair to consider how their behaviour might appear on television.
The exchange proved overwhelming for Love, who became tearful while discussing her concerns about being judged by viewers.
Qazi asked to rethink his approach to arguments
Qazi received a warning about his confrontational behaviour during disagreements with other participants.
Shetty advised him against allowing frustration to dictate his words, particularly when arguments became heated. He stressed that offensive remarks and angry outbursts could distract from the actual disagreement and make the opposing contestant appear more reasonable.
The filmmaker encouraged Qazi to express his opinions firmly without resorting to verbal aggression.
Amrapali’s changing personality raises questions
Amrapali’s performance also became a subject of discussion. Shetty observed that the confidence and assertiveness she displayed at the beginning of the season had become less noticeable.
He questioned whether her loyalty towards friends was affecting her ability to evaluate situations fairly, pointing to differences in how she responded to the actions of allies and opponents.
Amid the criticism, Shetty lightened the atmosphere by drawing a humorous parallel between Amrapali’s regular clashes with Gullu and the animated rivalry of Tom and Jerry.
Mahi defends her changing friendships
Mahi was challenged over her evolving relationships with fellow contestants. Her connections with Yung, Uditi, Harshita, Aman and later Qazi became central to the discussion.
Shetty questioned whether these frequent changes could create the impression that she was adjusting her loyalties according to the demands of the competition.
Rejecting that interpretation, Mahi explained that she had experienced exclusion from certain groups after participating in tasks. According to her, those experiences contributed to the changes in her friendships.
Shetty encouraged her to stop depending heavily on alliances and demonstrate her individual strengths as the show progressed through its middle phase.
Unexpected lifeline rule ends Mary Kom’s stay
The atmosphere inside the house changed considerably when Shetty introduced a new condition affecting the contestants’ lifelines.
The announcement meant that participants with two lifelines would lose both, while those possessing a single lifeline would also face a deduction. Contestants whose lifeline balance reached zero were placed at immediate risk of eviction.
Manish Goel survived the development with one lifeline still available. Mary Kom, however, found herself without any remaining protection under the revised elimination arrangement.
As a result, the celebrated Indian boxer was required to leave the competition.
Mary Kom responded to the announcement with composure, thanking those involved in her journey before saying goodbye to the other housemates.
Her departure marked an unexpected conclusion to her participation and served as a reminder to the remaining contestants that the competition could change without warning.
With tensions rising and relationships continuing to evolve, the coming episodes are expected to test the housemates’ ability to adapt to new challenges.
Bigg Boss 20 is scheduled to stream on JioHotstar at 9 pm, followed by its television broadcast on Colors at 10:30 pm.
