CJP announces September 1 listening tour, opens nationwide membership drive
New Delhi: Days after declaring that it would operate as a public pressure group and stay away from electoral politics, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a nationwide listening tour and membership drive to expand its presence across the country.
The organisation said its “Kya Bolti Public” National Listening Tour would begin on September 1, 2026. CJP leaders will travel across India and interact directly with young people to understand their concerns about education, employment and public institutions.
The feedback collected during the tour will be used to prepare a citizen-driven Youth Reform Charter. The charter will be built around four areas: education reform, integration of education with employment, institutional accountability, and alliances with political and social organisations.
Education and institutional reforms
The organisation said the campaign would highlight issues such as media credibility, the neutrality of the Election Commission and delays in the judicial system.
CJP will also meet political parties, student organisations, civil-society groups and social movements that participated in the Jantar Mantar agitation. The organisation credited the movement with securing the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Alongside the listening tour, CJP has opened a nationwide membership drive for students, young professionals, workers and other citizens. People can register through the organisation’s official website.
Membership drive and funding
The organisation clarified that it was not accepting financial contributions from the public at present. It urged people to remain cautious about donation requests made in its name, adding that official contribution channels would be announced through its website and verified social-media accounts.
The announcements followed CJP’s two-day National Working Committee meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, on August 5 and 6. During the meeting, the organisation reiterated that it would remain an independent pressure group and focus on building a public movement around youth concerns, constitutional values and institutional accountability.
