Athulya Senior Care expands Bengaluru presence with third Geriatric Centre

Bengaluru: Athulya Senior Care, an assisted living provider, has expanded its presence in Bengaluru with the launch of its third Integrated Geriatric Care Centre in Mathikere. The facility was inaugurated by Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader on Sunday.

With the addition of the new centre, Athulya Senior Care now has more than 300 dedicated senior-care beds across Bengaluru, strengthening its position in the city’s integrated geriatric care sector.

The new facility will provide specialised healthcare, cognitive care, rehabilitation and long-term support services for senior citizens. The expansion comes amid growing demand for dedicated elderly care as Karnataka’s ageing population increases. According to the Sample Registration System 2021, older adults constitute 9.2% of Karnataka’s population. The state has also identified dementia as a public health priority through initiatives including the Karnataka State Dementia Action Plan and Brain Health Initiative.

Khader said expanding geriatric healthcare infrastructure would become increasingly important as Karnataka prepares to meet the needs of an ageing population. He said facilities combining healthcare, rehabilitation and long-term support would complement government efforts to improve elder care. Athulya Senior Care Founder and CEO Srinivasan G said Bengaluru was emerging as a major destination for specialised senior care, driven by longer life expectancy, changing family structures and greater awareness of assisted living.
