Teen who left home after lunch found dead near railway track

New Delhi: A 14 year old boy who had been missing for a day was found dead along the Nagpur Howrah railway route in Kamthi town of Nagpur. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Nihal Shafi Sheikh a resident of Shaheed Nagar in Ranala.

According to preliminary information Nihal had not gone to school for the past six days. On Tuesday during lunch his mother asked him why he had been missing school. Police said he did not reply and quietly finished his meal before leaving the house. He never returned after that and his family started searching for him.

Investigation underway after teen found dead near railway track

On Wednesday afternoon his body was found near Paradise Lawn in the Ranala area beside the Nagpur Howrah down railway track. Police have registered an accidental death report and have started an investigation into the case. After completing the required formalities the body was sent to Kamthi Sub District Hospital for post mortem.

His family is in deep shock. Police are investigating whether it was a case of suicide, an accident, or if there is any other reason behind the teenager’s death.
