Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa receives bomb threat: Email threatens to ‘blow up’ actor’s bungalow
New Delhi: A fresh security scare has emerged in Mumbai after an email sent to Mayor Ritu Rajesh Tawde allegedly threatened to blow up Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow, Jalsa. The same email also reportedly carried a threat concerning Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming Mumbai concert.

The email was received on Friday (October 23) morning, and it comes at a time when security around celebrities and major entertainment events has already been under increased scrutiny.
Bomb threat to Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa
According to reports, the threat mentioned Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu residence, Jalsa, and Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour concert scheduled at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse on November 27. The Mumbai Mayor’s office was also reportedly named in the email.
Further details about the sender and the credibility of the threat are awaited.
Jalsa, located in Juhu, is one of the actor’s best-known properties and regularly attracts fans, particularly during his Sunday appearances outside the bungalow.
The threat comes amid a separate investigation into the October 18 firing involving actor Tiger Shroff. During that probe, investigators have reportedly learnt that some of the accused had conducted reconnaissance around the residences of several prominent Bollywood stars before the attack.
According to IANS, Amitabh Bachchan was among the actors whose homes were allegedly surveyed. Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar were also among the names that surfaced during the investigation. Police sources had earlier said the accused initially considered targeting Salman and allegedly carried out a recce outside his residence. The plan was reportedly dropped after they noticed heavy police deployment in the area.
Diljit Dosanjh’s Mumbai concert targetted in threat
Diljit Dosanjh’s Mumbai concert, which is scheduled to take place on November 27, was also mentioned in the email. The development comes after the singer’s Delhi concert, which was scheduled to take place on October 30 at Jawaharlal Nehri Stadium, was not granted police permission.
In a letter to ticketing partner BookMyShow, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) cited specific threat-related inputs as well as law-and-order commitments during the festive season.
“With reference to your application, I am to inform you that your request for organising Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour Delhi at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on 30.10.2026 has been examined by this office. In view of the specific threat-related inputs, coupled with the multifarious security and law and order commitments arising out of the ongoing festive season and other important law and order concerns, the same cannot be acceded to,” the letter stated.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Anant Mittal confirmed that permission had not been granted but did not disclose further details.
