Google Confirms Fitbit Air Launch in India This October After Pixel 11 Event

In May of this year, Google announced the Fitbit Air, its first screenless fitness tracker, similar to the Whoop device. Now, the company has confirmed that the Fitbit Air will launch in India before the year ends.

During the Pixel 11 launch event in India, Google informed a famous publication that the Fitbit Air would hit the market in October of this year. This wearable device represents Google’s move into screenless fitness tracking and AI-driven health guidance. The Fitbit Air had previously appeared in an Amazon India listing.

Google Fitbit Air Specifications and Features

The Fitbit Air is a light wristband that does not have a screen. This thing is made to keep track of your health information while you do other things so you do not have to always look at a display. The Fitbit Air is very light it weighs 12 grams. That includes the strap, on the Fitbit Air.

The Fitbit Air is a device that is always checking my heart rate. It also keeps track of the stages of sleep I go through at night. Then it gives me a Sleep Score. I can use the Fitbit Air to check my heart rate variability, which’s a measure that people use to see how well I am recovering and how stressed I am. The Fitbit Air can automatically track my workouts. Google says that the Fitbit Air can tell what I am doing like if I’m walking or running or riding a bike or rowing or working out at the gym. The Fitbit Air knows, over 140 activities that I can do.

Other Fitbit Air features include weekly cardio load measurement, readiness scores, step counting, distance tracking, and silent vibration alarms. It also includes the “Smart Wake” feature, which wakes the user at the optimal point in their sleep cycle. Google states that the Fitbit Air uses new machine learning models that are 15% more accurate than previous versions. The Fitbit Air will work with the Google Health app.

The company has also redesigned the Google Health app, which will replace the Fitbit app. Google has announced that the Fitbit app will automatically update to Google Health starting May 19, while retaining users’ data history.

No subscription is required to access health metrics, although a three-month trial of the Google Health Premium plan is included; this offers access to Google Health Coach, adaptive plans, and activity tracking. According to Google, the Health Coach can provide personalized workout plans, recovery tips, and sleep insights, in addition to analysing uploaded PDFs, photos, and medical records to offer suggestions better tailored to your needs.

Expected price of the Fitbit Air

Google has not said how much the Fitbit Air will cost in India. To give you an idea the Fitbit Air costs 99 dollars in the United States, which’s about 9,450 rupees. The Fitbit Air has a competitor called the Whoop 5 and the Whoop 5 starts at 21,990 rupees.
