Woman’s body found wrapped in sack in West Bengal’s Mangalkote, 1 arrested

New Delhi: The body of a woman wrapped in a sack was recovered from a piece of land at around 7 am on Sunday. Her throat had been slit, while injury marks were found on her head and other parts of her body. The incident has caused widespread shock in Khudrun village of Mangalkote. The family initially alleged that an extramarital relationship may have been behind the murder. Police have already arrested one person on suspicion of involvement.

According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Aparna Das, a resident of Khudrun village in Mangalkote. Her husband and son are reportedly away from home for work, leaving Aparna living alone. Family members alleged that she was involved in an extramarital relationship with a man from the area.

Family alleges murder over relationship

The family has alleged that tensions surrounding the relationship may have led to the murder. According to their claim, someone entered Aparna’s house late on Saturday night and killed her.

The family also suspects that more than one person may have been involved. They alleged that after killing Aparna by slitting her throat, the accused planned to place her body inside a sack and take it elsewhere.

However, the body was found wrapped in the sack on Sunday morning. After receiving the information, Mangalkote police reached the spot and recovered the body. It was later sent to hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police investigate murder from all angles

Police have started investigating Aparna’s house as well as the location where her body was recovered. Officers are also examining the circumstances surrounding her death and trying to establish what happened on Saturday night.

One person has already been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the case. However, police have not yet established the motive behind the murder.

Investigators are looking into the family’s allegation of an extramarital relationship, along with other possible reasons for the killing. The post-mortem report and further investigation are expected to provide more details about the circumstances of Aparna’s death.
