Watch: GTA 6 cars spotted in Miami, but is Rockstar behind the real-life Vice City vehicles?
Grand Theft Auto VI marketing has spread across Miami ahead of the game’s November launch, turning parts of the real city into references to fictional Vice City. The ‘official’ campaign includes major signs, beach branding, public art partnerships and community events. However, GTA 6 cars have been spotted in Miami-Dade. Some featuring Leonida licence plates and a VCPD-liveried Lamborghini, as ‘Pegassi Ignus Pursuit’ seen in GTA Online.

Rockstar Games says GTA VI is set in Vice City and the fictional state of Leonida. The official game page lists a November 19, 2026 release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
No official information
Axios reported on October 15 that a large “Welcome to Vice City” sign appeared on the Kaseya Center, while GTA-branded concession umbrellas were placed on Miami Beach. Rockstar also partnered with Wynwood Walls to give Miami-Dade residents free admission through 2028 and unveil ten murals using official game artwork.
The company is also funding a free Little Haiti block party with BAYO and artist Michaël Brun. These projects connect GTA VI’s fictional setting with the city that inspired it.
But there is no official information if Rockstar Games is actually running a maarketing campaign using real-life cars that also feature in the game.
Images or clips circulating online could show fan-made cars, private promotional vehicles or content without clear provenance.
Why the campaign fits GTA VI
Rockstar describes Vice City as the centre of a story involving protagonists Jason and Lucia and a wider criminal conspiracy across Leonida. The studio released the launch trailer on October 15, one day before this intake submission.
The Miami campaign is therefore real and current, also cars and modding cars are an essential part of the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ story line.
