New Delhi: For Tom Holland and Zendaya, this year has turned out to be one of the most successful years. The newly-married couple’s films Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey became major milestones in their careers.
Tom Holland and Zendaya are now the highest-grossing actors of the year. The couple’s box office dominance will only increase with the release of another much-anticipated film, Dune: Part Three, set to arrive later this year.
Tom Holland-Zendaya become top grossing actors
According to a report by Forbes, Hollywood has seldom seen two stars dominate the global box office. Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened to USD 355 million in North America and USD 927 million worldwide. The film even crossed USD 1.1 billion in just a few days after its release. The film grossed Rs 380 crore in India. The film had the second-largest global opening weekend, just behind Avengers: Endgame.
Before Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which also stars Tom Holland and Zendaya, grossed USD 911 million worldwide across three weekends and USD 430 million across North America. The two films became biggest box office successes of the year.
For Zendaya, this has been a successful year at the box office. With films like The Drama, The Odyssey, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, her movies have collectively earned nearly USD 2 billion worldwide.

Her next release, Dune: Part Three is expected to add another major box office success to her filmography. If the film matches the performance of the earlier Dune movies, which earned USD 410 million and USD 714 million worldwide respectively, Zendaya could move closer to Brie Larson’s record for the highest single-year box office earnings by an actress.
Meanwhile, Tom Holland has earned around USD 1.8 billion worldwide this year so far. If he appears in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, his box office numbers could rise even further, especially given the franchise’s history of record-breaking success.
Meanwhile, Zendaya’s The Odyssey co-star Benny Safdie currently leads the year’s box office rankings, thanks to his roles in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and The Odyssey. However, Zendaya and Tom Holland are not far behind.
