This new AI works inside WhatsApp and can track tasks, teams and follow-ups

New Delhi: Delhi-based AI startup Braneum has launched Kara, an AI chief-of-staff that works inside WhatsApp and is aimed at individuals, startups and business teams in India. The tool is built to track tasks, commitments, follow-ups and team activity without requiring users to install a separate app.

Kara went live on July 28, 2026, at a time when AI agents are becoming a bigger focus for technology companies. Braneum says the system is built around shared team memory, allowing it to keep track of who promised what, what has changed and which work is still pending.

What does Kara do inside WhatsApp?

Kara works through WhatsApp and supports English, Hindi and Hinglish.

The AI can send morning briefings, end-of-day summaries, reminders, email insights and task follow-ups. It can also track commitments made by different members of a team.

This shared memory is one of the main ideas behind the product. Instead of treating every chat as a separate conversation, Kara is meant to keep a wider record of ongoing work across a team.

Kumar Abhishek, Founder and Chief Product Architect at Braneum, said, “Every AI assistant on the market today is a brilliant employee with amnesia. It forgets you the moment the chat ends, and it never speaks unless spoken to.”

He added, “A real chief-of-staff doesn’t work that way. They hold the whole team’s context in their head, and they walk into your office before you call them. That’s what we built. Kara doesn’t answer your questions. Kara runs your day.”

AI that sends reminders without being asked

Braneum is positioning Kara as a proactive AI system. That means it can send updates or reminders without waiting for a fresh prompt every time.

The company describes its approach as “behavioral conscience”, which is meant to help the AI decide when to act, when to seek approval and when to remain silent.

Braneum says users remain in control of actions taken by the AI. The company also says customer data is not used to train AI models.

Kara pricing and availability

Kara is currently available in India for individuals and teams.

Braneum is offering the first month free, after which users can move to individual or team subscription plans. The company has not provided detailed subscription pricing in the information shared.

The launch reflects a broader shift in AI products from simple chatbots to tools that can manage ongoing work, remember context and take action across business workflows.
