Spider-Man: Brand New Day box office Day 9: Tom Holland film nears Rs 350 cr net in India

New Delhi: Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day is showing no signs of slowing down at the Indian box office. The Marvel film recorded an uptick in collections on its second Friday, taking its India gross past the Rs 417 crore mark as it entered its second weekend.

Early estimates reported by Sacnilk suggest that the superhero film earned around Rs 14.50 crore net from 13,544 shows across India on Day 9. Its estimated gross collection for the day stood at approximately Rs 17.36 crore.

The second Friday brought a 1.8 per cent rise in earnings compared with the previous day. With this addition, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has amassed around Rs 349.25 crore net in India and approximately Rs 417.63 crore in gross collections. The film is now within touching distance of the Rs 350 crore net milestone.

English version remains biggest contributor

The English-language release continues to drive the film’s performance in India. It has contributed an estimated Rs 191.35 crore to the overall net collection so far.

The Hindi version follows with approximately Rs 124.40 crore. The Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada versions have contributed the remaining share, giving the Marvel release a sizeable footprint across different markets.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day crosses Rs 400 crore gross

The film had a powerful start at the Indian box office, opening with Rs 60.60 crore net on Day 1. It subsequently recorded its biggest single-day collection of Rs 77.75 crore net.

After its extended eight-day first week, the Tom Holland starrer had accumulated around Rs 334.70 crore net in India, while its gross collection stood at approximately Rs 400.21 crore.

The latest Friday numbers have taken its domestic gross total to Rs 417.63 crore, putting the film in striking distance of another major milestone.

Second weekend holds key to Avengers: Endgame record

The second weekend could determine how quickly Spider-Man: Brand New Day climbs further. A strong Saturday and Sunday could push its India gross beyond Rs 450 crore.

That would put the film ahead of Avengers: Endgame, which collected roughly Rs 370 crore net and around Rs 445 crore gross in India.

With the film already approaching the Rs 350 crore net mark, its second-weekend performance could therefore help it claim a new benchmark among the biggest Marvel releases in the Indian market.
