Salman Khan reportedly takes major pay cut for SVC63 due to longtime friend

New Delhi: Salman Khan has reportedly agreed to reduce his remuneration for his upcoming film SVC63, with media reports claiming the superstar accepted a significantly lower fee than what he usually charges for a feature film.

According to a Free Press Journal report, Salman, who is believed to command around Rs 120 crore per film, has agreed to work on director Vamshi Paidipally’s SVC63 for Rs 70 crore. The film is currently slated for an Eid 2027 release.

The report attributes the decision to Salman Khan’s longstanding friendship with Rafi Kazi, who is said to have played a key role in bringing the project together and will reportedly be among its producers.

Quoting an industry insider, Free Press Journal reported, “Salman, whose market value stands at anything over Rs 120 crore upwards for each film he has done for nearly 20 years, has reportedly given this discount to the SVC63 makers because his longtime friend, Rafi Kazi, is the mediator on the project. Rafi’s name will appear as one of the producers of the film. And it is because of the friend factor that SK has agreed to taking a big cut in his fees upfront.”

The reported fee is substantially lower than the amount Salman is generally said to receive for leading roles, making it one of the rare instances where the actor has allegedly accepted a sizeable reduction in his upfront remuneration.

This is not the first time Salman has extended professional support to friends in the film industry. Over the years, he has made cameo and guest appearances in projects backed by close associates, including Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji, reportedly without charging any fee.
