Roblox India users jump 64%, creators contribute ₹124 crore to economy: Report

Roblox is seeing rapid growth in India, with its daily active users increasing 64 per cent year-on-year during the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The gaming and creation platform shared the figures at its ‘UNBOX ROBLOX‘ event in New Delhi, where it discussed plans to expand its presence in India’s gaming and creator market. The company also presented findings from its India Economic Impact Report, highlighting how Indian developers are earning money by creating games and digital items for users worldwide.

The report, prepared by Access Partnership for Roblox, estimates that creator activity on the platform contributed ₹123.9 crore to India’s GDP between 2020 and 2025. It also supported approximately 510 full-time-equivalent jobs in 2025. The findings come as India’s gaming industry continues to expand, with the report projecting industry revenues to increase from ₹6,300 crore in 2025 to ₹9,200 crore by 2028.

Roblox sees strong growth among Indian gamers

According to the report, Roblox’s daily active users in India grew at a compound annual rate of 76 per cent between 2020 and 2025.

Sunil Rao, Managing Director of Roblox India and South Asia, said, “This is the age of small studios and the next big hit on Roblox could come from India.”

The number of Indian creators eligible for payments increased at an annual compound rate of 96 per cent during the same period, reaching more than 250 in 2025.

Indian Roblox developers are earning from global audiences

The report found that overseas players accounted for 52 per cent of daily users and 55 per cent of revenue for games made by surveyed Indian creators.

Bengaluru-based Small World Games, founded by Zankhit Chawda, offers one example. Its title Death Ball has recorded over 1.6 billion visits, and Racket Rivals has crossed 560 million visits.

Delhi-based entrepreneur Arjun Goel’s digital fashion business, Meta Fashion, has sold more than 25 lakh virtual items on Roblox.

Can Roblox create more gaming jobs in India?

According to the creator survey, 91 per cent of respondents said their Roblox experience helped them secure outside job offers, freelance assignments or business opportunities.

The findings suggest growing commercial opportunities for Indian game developers, designers and smaller studios.
