FWICE calls for swift investigation, stronger security after attack on Tiger Shroff

New Delhi: The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has expressed serious concern over the reported firing at actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle, urging the Maharashtra government and Mumbai Police to take immediate steps to protect members of the film industry from growing security threats.

Condemning the alleged attack, the federation called for a thorough, impartial and time-bound investigation to identify those responsible and ensure that they face legal action.

The incident comes amid heightened security concerns in Bollywood following a reported shooting outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence. FWICE said such incidents have created anxiety within the entertainment industry and raised questions about the safety of actors, filmmakers and other professionals.

The federation has urged the authorities to strengthen security arrangements for Shroff and his family, stressing that artists should be able to carry out their professional commitments without fear of violence or intimidation.

Expressing confidence in the Mumbai Police and Maharashtra Chief Minister, FWICE said it expects the authorities to respond firmly and prevent similar incidents in the future.

The organisation also emphasised the film industry’s contribution to India’s economy and cultural identity, arguing that the safety of those working in entertainment must remain a priority.

The statement was issued by FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit, President B.N. Tiwari, Honorary General Secretary Ashok Dubey and Treasurer Gangeshwaralal Shrivastav.
