Renukaswamy murder case: Darshan’s close aide Pradosh seeks approver status, makes fresh allegations

New Delhi: A significant development has emerged in the Renukaswamy murder case, with Pradosh, a close associate of actor Darshan and Accused No. 14 in the case, seeking permission from the court to turn approver.

In his petition, Pradosh has reportedly assured the court that he is willing to disclose all the details he knows about the case and the alleged involvement of the other accused. The petition has brought several new claims to light.

The court is currently hearing Pradosh’s application, with the next hearing scheduled for August 10. One of the significant claims in Pradosh’s petition concerns an alleged threat made by actor Darshan after the incident.

According to the petition, Pradosh has claimed that Darshan threatened to shoot himself if Pradosh did not cooperate with him. Pradosh reportedly told the court that he felt helpless because of the alleged threat and therefore assisted Darshan.

Pradosh has further claimed that he was present when Renukaswamy was allegedly assaulted.

According to his petition, he tried to stop the assault several times but was unable to prevent it. He has alleged that Renukaswamy was brutally attacked and burned with cigarettes, and that Darshan himself allegedly assaulted him.

Pradosh has claimed that he knows how the incident unfolded and who was involved. He has told the court that if he is granted approver status, he is prepared to reveal all the information before the court.

Pradosh’s alleged connection to the case

Pradosh is reportedly a close associate of Darshan and the owner of Stony Brook Bar and Restaurant in RR Nagar.

Investigators have reportedly been examining the events that unfolded at the restaurant on the day of the incident. Darshan and several others were allegedly present there before travelling to the Pattanagere shed, where the assault on Renukaswamy allegedly took place.

Pradosh is also alleged to have accompanied Darshan to the shed. Investigators are reportedly examining Pradosh’s role in the events that followed the alleged murder as well.

What happens next?

The court is yet to decide on Pradosh’s request to become an approver. His petition could potentially become significant for the prosecution if the court accepts his request and allows him to provide evidence regarding the alleged sequence of events and the roles of the other accused.

The matter will be heard further on August 10, when the court is expected to continue considering his application.
