Fugitive Indian gangster Himanshu Bhau detained by US authorities in Nevada
New Delhi: Himanshu Bhau, a wanted gangster from Haryana facing multiple charges of murder and extortion in India, has been detained by US authorities. Officials confirmed on Saturday that the 26-year-old fugitive is currently held in custody by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

According to the US government’s online detainee records, two Indian-origin men identified as Himanshu Sigroha and Neeraj Kaushik are being detained at the Henderson Detention Center in Henderson, Nevada, situated just outside Las Vegas. Their case proceedings are being handled by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) branch in Las Vegas.
Originally hailing from Rohtak, Bhau escaped India back in 2022. His exit came immediately after his name surfaced in connection with three separate murders carried out over a span of just 25 days, as per an earlier report by Hindustan Times. According to Delhi Police records, he first escaped to Dubai, moved towards Portugal, spent over two years hiding in Canada, and eventually slipped into the US.
Track record of shootouts and high-profile attacks
Back home, law enforcement agencies across Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana have had the Himanshu Bhau syndicate on their radar for running extortion rings, carrying out assaults, and executing gangland hits.
The gang was directly tied to the firing incident outside YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s Gurugram residence. Police later tracked down and arrested two syndicate sharpshooters in Delhi as they prepared for another targeted strike. During interrogation, the arrested shooters admitted they acted on direct orders from jailed gangster Neeraj Faridpuria and Bhau, who supplied the money, weapons, and ground logistics for the 17 August 2025 attack on Yadav’s home.
Retaliatory killings and foreign linkages
The network also drew attention following the fatal shooting of a close associate of Haryanvi singer Rahul Yadav, popularly known as Fazilpuria, in Gurugram. Sunil Sardhaniya, an overseas-based gangster associated with Bhau’s syndicate, publicly took responsibility for that hit on social media.
The gang was similarly behind the June 2024 daylight shooting inside a Burger King outlet in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden, where a 26-year-old man was executed. Bhau took to social media shortly after to claim responsibility, stating that the victim was targeted in retaliation for the 2020 murder of his associate, Shakti Dad.
