‘Dhurandhar’ breaks world records as the most viewed non-English film on Netflix
Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh breaks the world record of being the most viewed non-English film on the Netflix platform, CEO praises Indian cinema

Dhurandhar, the blockbuster film had recently made its mark on the global box office. It has since crossed another notch on the ladder and made itself at the top of the digital charts as well.
The action film directed by Aditya Dhar had a star-studded ensemble of R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Sanjay Dutt, and others, had completed its theatrical runs. It was then dubbed on the digital platform Netflix where it found its way into the hearts of many across the globe.
“We are thrilled to announce that Dhurandhar was the most watched non-English film on the Netflix platform this year,” stated co-CEO of Netflix Ted Sarnoski. “It was the most viewed non-English movie this year on the platform with more views than any other non-English film. But the US and the UK continued to rule the roost with the largest views. He also mentioned that he noticed Indian cinema’s rise and popularity across the globe, “India is already delivering globally desirable content.”
“We already saw the rise of India and its content across the world. But Indian cinema has its own strength and is India’s most potent creative content for taking over the globe,” added Ted. Talking about the popularity of Indian movies on the platform, Ted said, “An Indian movie or series has been in the global top 10 every single week since 2024. Our content discovery tools have driven this rise in demand. People globally have clocked 3.5 billion hours watching Indian movies and TV shows this year alone.”
Reportedly, the first part of the film Dhurandhar was released in the theatres in December 2025. It was then followed by its sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge released in March 2026. Both the parts are available for viewing in India on Netflix and JioHotstar.
