KSRTC launches weekend package bus service to Jog Falls from Shivamogga

New Delhi: To facilitate travel for tourists visiting the world-famous Jog Falls during the monsoon season, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) Shivamogga Division has introduced a special weekend package bus service.

Jog Falls, formed by the Sharavathi River originating in the Western Ghats, is located on the border of Uttara Kannada and Shivamogga districts. The spectacular waterfall, which plunges from a height of about 830 feet (253 metres), is at its fullest between July and October, attracting lakhs of visitors every year.

Route and timings

The special package bus will depart from the Shivamogga Main Bus Stand at 8:00 am and travel Varadamoola, Ikkeri, and Keladi, reaching Jog Falls at 2:00 pm.

The return journey will begin from Jog Falls at 5:00 pm, with the bus expected to arrive back at the Shivamogga Bus Stand by 7:30 pm.

Ticket price and booking

The package has been priced at Rs 450 for adults and Rs 250 for children. Passengers can make advance reservations through the official KSRTC website.

According to a report by The Times of India, KSRTC Divisional Traffic Officer (DTO) Dinesh Channagiri said the special weekend service will commence from this weekend, offering a convenient travel option for visitors planning to witness the monsoon grandeur of Jog Falls.
