Flipkart offers free Netflix Mobile Plan to Plus members, here’s how

New Delhi: Flipkart has partnered with Netflix to introduce a new reward for Flipkart Plus members in India. Starting August 1, eligible users can unlock a free 30-day Netflix mobile plan every month by completing regular purchases on the platform. The offer that doesn’t ask customers to purchase an additional subscription to Netflix or data on their phones.

The new benefit is tied to customers’ monthly shopping habits on Flipkart’s platform. Flipkart members who fulfil the purchase criteria will get to enable the Netflix Mobile Plan directly from the Flipkart app without any extra cost, the company says.

How to unlock the free Netflix mobile plan

Flipkart Plus members have to make four orders of Rs 499 or more in a calendar month to avail themselves of the reward. The special offers can be available on Flipkart, Flipkart Grocery or Flipkart Minutes.

After the fourth order, users will get a 30-day Netflix mobile plan. Once the subscription period is over, the customers need to make four orders within a month to qualify again for the benefit.

Who is eligible?

Customers who don’t belong to Flipkart Plus can register for the loyalty programme by placing 15 orders in 12 months. There are no charges for Flipkart Plus membership.

The collaboration is aimed at rewarding those who visit Flipkart for their grocery shopping, shopping for everyday essentials, and other products regularly, according to Flipkart.

Ravi Iyer, CFO and Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Flipkart, said that the effort is aimed at leveraging the customers’ existing shopping patterns and introducing entertainment as a reward for customers each month. Netflix’s first e-commerce partnership in India has been announced, as it seeks to make the streaming company more accessible as a part of everyday shopping, said Vice President, APAC Partnerships – Business Development, Laurent Uguen at Netflix.
