Mock PM, Real Failure’: Amit Shah Tears into Rahul, Says Congress Thrives on Anarchy

The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, on Tuesday launched a blistering attack on the Opposition, particularly the Congress, accusing it of resorting to street politics because it was upset over the loss of what he called its “illegal vote bank” of Bangladeshi infiltrators following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Shah said Congress is rattled by the SIR drive against infiltrators and bogus voters, dares Rahul Gandhi to prove ‘Vote Chori’ in Parliament

Addressing a massive gathering at the iconic Moazzam Jahi Market in Hyderabad after leading a four-kilometre padayatra, Shah said the Opposition could protest as much as it wanted but cannot not stop the government from removing infiltrators and bogus voters from the electoral rolls.

He said the Modi government was determined to ensure that only genuine voters exercised their franchise.

‘If EVMs Are Rigged, Congress Should Resign’

Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s allegation that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were tampered with, Shah threw a direct challenge at the Congress leader.

“If Congress truly believes EVMs are rigged, then ask your Chief Ministers in Telangana, Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka to resign. Withdraw support from the Tamil Nadu government. If you think the Lok Sabha elections were illegal, then Rahul Gandhi and other Congress MPs should resign,” he said.

Shah reiterated his challenge to the Opposition to produce evidence of its “Vote Chori” allegations in Parliament, saying the Centre was ready to convene a special session for the debate.

“So far, they have not had the courage to accept the challenge,” he remarked.

Taking a swipe at Rahul Gandhi’s participation in the Opposition’s mock Parliament, Shah said the Congress leader should have enacted the role of Prime Minister. “At least that would have given him some mock satisfaction because, in reality, he can never become Prime Minister,” he said.

He mocked Rahul further, saying one becomes Prime Minister by working among the people, sweating it out for them and winning their trust—not by spending three or four months abroad.

“They don’t allow Parliament to function but stage drama on the streets,” he said.

Using the popular Hindi idiom, “Nachna Na Aaye Angan Tedha,” Shah said the Opposition was blaming everything except its own failures.

“They only want to remain in the headlines through anarchy because they cannot face Parliament,” he said.

‘Congress Wants Dead People’s Votes’

Explaining the SIR exercise, Shah accused Rahul Gandhi and the Congress of spreading misinformation by claiming that 13 crore voters were being removed.

He said:

• 6 crore voters had duplicate registrations.

• About 3 crore voters were deceased.

• Nearly 4 crore were bogus voters.

“Congress wants even the votes of dead people as its vote bank. That is why it is protesting and staging mock Parliament,” he alleged.

Shah claimed the Congress was steadily shrinking across the country and needed only “one final push” to be finished politically—even in Telangana.

He asked the party to introspect why it had remained out of power for decades in states such as Tamil Nadu, Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Tripura and Odisha.

“There were no SIR exercises then,” he quipped.

Calling the Congress a party “on a ventilator,” Shah urged the people of Telangana to take a sankalp to uproot it completely.

‘RR Tax Is Rahul Through Revanth’

Taking a dig at Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Shah alleged that Telangana had become an ATM for the Congress.

“The so-called RR Tax is not Revanth Reddy’s tax. It is Rahul Gandhi’s tax collected through Revanth,” he alleged.

‘Khatakhat Became Chata Chat’

Shah mocked Rahul Gandhi’s election guarantees, saying the promised “Khatakhat” guarantees had turned into “Chata Chat” guarantees in states where Congress formed governments.

In contrast, he credited the Narendra Modi government with fulfilling major promises, including:

• Abrogation of Article 370

• Construction of the Ram Temple

• Abolition of Triple Talaq

• Crackdown on Naxalism

• The ongoing campaign for a Nasha Mukt Bharat

He also highlighted the Centre’s welfare schemes over the past 12 years and appealed to voters to bring the BJP to power in Telangana with a two-thirds majority.

Massive Padayatra Draws Enthusiastic Crowd

Shah arrived in Hyderabad in the afternoon and first offered prayers at the Bhagyalakshmi Temple near Charminar.

He then led a nearly four-kilometre padayatra from Nizam College Grounds to Moazzam Jahi Market holding the national flag.

The BJP mobilised workers from all eight Lok Sabha constituencies it won in Telangana, along with cadres from the GHMC area.

The turnout was impressive, with a nearly one-kilometre-long procession of party workers accompanying Shah.

Compared with Sunday’s Opposition rally at Ramlila Maidan, the BJP gathering appeared visibly more energetic, with party workers enthusiastically cheering throughout Shah’s speech.

Shah concluded by paying tribute to Goddess Bhagyalakshmi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for Hyderabad’s integration with India, and tribal icon Komaram Bheem.
