Amazon Enters Android Tablet Market With New Alexa Lineup
Amazon is adding Android tablets for fun, work and AI help. Amazon has three models: the Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, the Amazon Alexa Tablet 11 and the Amazon Alexa Tablet 8. Amazon also updated its tablets for kids.

The biggest change from Amazon’s earlier Fire tablets is the software experience. While Fire OS offered a more restricted app selection, the new Alexa tablets come with native Google Play Store support, giving users greater freedom to download Android apps.
The devices also retain Amazon’s focus on reading. According to Amazon Devices chief Panos Panay, the reading feature turns the tablet into a “distraction-free reading sanctuary”. When activated, it disables notifications, enables battery optimisation for up to 20 hours of reading and switches on the adaptive display and blue light filter.
Amazon Alexa Tablet series: Specifications and features
All three tablets feature Alexa Plus, Amazon’s AI-powered assistant.
The Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro is at the top of the line. It has a 12-inch display with a 280 PPI pixel density, a 120Hz refresh rate and a 3:2 aspect ratio. The tablet uses a 4 octa-core processor supports up to 16GB of RAM and includes quad Dolby Atmos speakers along with Wi-Fi 6E. Amazon says it can last up to 16 hours of video playback. A Pro Pen and a magnetic Pro Keyboard are sold separately for writing notes, drawing sketches and marking up PDFs.
