Yuvraj Singh’s coaching debut fixed in IPL 2027, will join Delhi Capitals

A veteran player of Indian cricket may be ready for his first coaching role in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2027. According to reports, former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh may join the coaching staff of Delhi Capitals (DC) before IPL 2027. According to a report in ‘Times of India’, former India captain Sourav Ganguly is set to return to DC’s support staff and he wants Yuvraj to join him in the dugout. These big changes are happening because JSW Group is going to take over the operations of the franchise from IPL 2027.
 

According to the report, a senior DC official has confirmed that Yuvraj is all set to join the franchise. For information, let us tell you that Delhi Capitals is run by its co-owners GMR Group and JSW Group for two years alternately. GMR has run the team in 2025 and 2026, and now JSW is going to take charge for the next two years.

Sourav Ganguly was a key member of the franchise’s support staff during the previous JSW stint and is expected to return in 2027. Ganguly served as JSW’s ‘Director of Cricket’ for Delhi Capitals in the last two seasons, during which time Hemang Badani was appointed head coach. DC had a great start in IPL 2025, but their performance faltered in the second half of the season and they finished fifth.
