Yami Gautam To Star In Anand L Rai’s Fantasy Family Drama
Bollywood’s ace actress Yami Gautam is on cloud nine with the massive success of her husband Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar series. She also essayed a small cameo in Dhurandhar sequel and has been part of the Dhurandhar’s massive success. And now, it’s her time to show off her prowess. She is now a part of ace filmmaker Anand L Rai’s Nayyi Navelli. The makers shared this big news on social media and also launched her first look poster.
Yami looked awesome in the animated poster pulling off the demon’s head with her dupatta. Her vibrant smile and traditional look made the poster worth watching. Being a fantasy family entertainer, it is a mix of comedy, chaos and the supernatural elements. Yami is essaying the role of a dayan in this movie where the heady mix of family eccentricities turns the story into a playful supernatural ride.
On the other hand, the film’s synopsis reads, “A picture-perfect bride transforms a chaotic Meerut household into paradise, only for her brother-in-law to suspect that his seemingly ideal sister-in-law may actually be a daayan.”
This is enough to pull off the hype to the next level. Nayyi Navelli will hit the theatres nationwide on 16th October, 2026. This Balaji Mohan’s directorial has Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma’s screenplay. Even music director GV Prakash shared his happiness on Twitter and treated his fans…
Even producer Anand L Rai is all with this announcement and doled out, “Nayyi Navelli is the kind of story that surprises you at every turn. When Himanshu and I first discussed the story, we were immediately drawn to the unique way it brings together families for a fantasy, humour and adventure-filled experience. Yami Gautam Dhar was an instinctive choice, bringing exactly the warmth and mischief the character demands. Amazon MGM Studios has delivered some groundbreaking stories and in our first collaboration with them, we can’t wait to take audiences on this wonderfully unpredictable ride.”
So guys, be ready for another Anand L Rai’s creation and this time it will be an entertaining dayan ride for sure!
