Xiaomi 17T, Redmi Note 15 and 3 more phones get a price hike; find the list

The memory crisis is taking its toll on smartphones and, once again, we have a price rise. Now, Xiaomi is increasing the prices of five models, which include the Xiaomi 17T and Redmi Note 15, and the basic Redmi 15C and Redmi 15A. The prices are going up by amounts from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000, depending on which model you are looking at.

To help you understand what is going on, the use of Artificial Intelligence is becoming more popular, which means that companies need memory like DRAM and NAND for the computers that handle Artificial Intelligence data.

This has created a supply shortage, leading to higher prices for phone manufacturers. Xiaomi is not the only company that has increased prices: Samsung, Vivo, Poco, Nothing, Realme and more have also increased prices in recent weeks.

Before we begin, note that Xiaomi previously increased prices on select devices (Xiaomi Pad 8, Redmi Pad 2, and Redmi Note 15 SE) just two weeks ago.

Redmi Note 15, Xiaomi 17T get expensive

The Xiaomi 17T launched two months back; it cost Rs 59,999 for the 12GB/256GB model earlier. Now it costs Rs 64,999, a jump of Rs 5,000. The 12GB/512GB version also increased by Rs 5,000, costing Rs 69,999 now.

The Redmi Note 15 didn’t skip the price hikes either. The base 8GB/128GB model is priced at Rs 28,999, up from Rs 26,999. The bad part is that it launched at Rs 22,999- so buyers have already seen two price hikes in a short span.

Xiaomi raises the Redmi 15, 15A and 15C prices

Prices across the Redmi 15 series have gone up. The base Redmi 15 5G 6GB/128GB variant now costs Rs 21,499 – up Rs 1,000 from Rs 20,499. The phone was launched at Rs 14,999. The Redmi 15C 5G has also become costlier, with the 4GB/128GB model jumping from Rs 16,999 to Rs 18,499. The Redmi 15A 5G’s base 4GB/64GB variant went from Rs 14,999 to Rs 15,999. None of these is a first-time hike – both phones had already seen price increases earlier.
