Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Mayank Yadav power India to T20I series sweep over Zimbabwe
New Delhi: India finished their Zimbabwe tour on a high as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Mayank Yadav delivered match-winning performances to secure a 35-run victory in the third and final T20I at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday.

The win helped India complete a 3-0 clean sweep, providing a much-needed boost after losing their previous T20I series against England and Ireland. Chasing 193 on a slow pitch, Zimbabwe struggled to build momentum and eventually ended their innings at 157 for seven.
Ryan Burl kept Zimbabwe’s hopes alive with a fighting unbeaten 54 but the early damage proved too much to overcome. India’s bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings with Mayank Yadav leading the attack with impressive pace and accuracy.
Mayank sets tone with ball
Mayank made an immediate impact by dismissing Brian Bennett on the very first ball of Zimbabwe’s chase. Yash Thakur then added further pressure by removing Dion Myers and captain Sikandar Raza in consecutive deliveries, leaving the hosts struggling at 34 for three.
Although Burl and Wesley Madhevere added 60 runs for the fifth wicket, Zimbabwe never looked fully in control of the chase. India’s fielding was not at its best, with four dropped catches but the bowlers ensured the mistakes did not prove costly.
Sooryavanshi shows maturity beyond his years
Earlier, India faced an early setback after Abhishek Sharma fell for just two runs. However, 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi responded with one of his most mature T20 innings.

The youngster scored 81 off 49 balls, combining power with patience on a difficult batting surface. After a cautious start, he brought up his second T20I fifty in 31 deliveries and produced some memorable shots including a huge 102-metre six against Sikandar Raza.
Sooryavanshi also built important partnerships with Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer, helping India recover and post a competitive total. He fell short of a century after a stunning catch by Brad Evans ended his innings.
India complete dominant finish
With Sooryavanshi and Shreyas dismissed, India slowed slightly in the final overs but Rinku Singh’s quick 25 off 14 balls helped push the total close to 200.
In the end, the combination of Sooryavanshi’s fearless batting and Mayank’s explosive bowling proved decisive, giving India a convincing series sweep and a strong finish in Zimbabwe.
