After Thiruvonam Bumper winner collects money, TN native claims winning ticket was his!
Palakkad : Days after this year’s Rs 30 crore Thiruvonam bumper winner reportedly collected his bounty, a Tamil Nadu native came forward on Wednesday claiming that he is the actual winner of the lottery.

The Tamil Nadu native reached the office of the District Police Chief here claiming that the winning ticket — TL 360615 — was bought by him, but it later went missing along with his purse. He told a TV channel that he bought the ticket more than a month ago from the Palakkad railway station.
On being told that the ticket he bought may be fake, as its barcode could not be scanned, his friends said that two tickets were bought by them; one was the first prize-winning number, and on the other they won Rs 2,000.
“So, how can one be fake and the other not when both were bought from the same place?” they asked. The Tamil Nadu native has sought a police investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, according to reports, a Kannur native collected the bumper prize winnings, totalling around Rs 16 crore after deduction of taxes and agent commissions, and has asked the Kerala State Lotteries Department to keep his identity a secret.
