Statewide prayers for Capt. Smit Machchhar’s speedy recovery

Bengaluru: BJP workers across Karnataka will offer special prayers in the name of Capt. Smit Machchhar for his speedy recovery at thousands of temples across the state on Saturday, BJP Chief Whip in the Legislative Council N. Ravi Kumar said on Friday.

In a statement, Ravi Kumar said Capt. Machchhar had displayed exemplary courage, presence of mind and remarkable timing in overpowering his co-pilot and saving the lives of 180 passengers aboard a FlyDubai aircraft.

He said Capt. Machchhar’s actions had enhanced the prestige and reputation of Indians both in the country and abroad.

“Capt. Smit Machchhar has emerged as a hero of the skies through his remarkable performance and sense of duty. He rightly deserves to be complimented. BJP workers will pray for his speedy recovery,” Ravi Kumar said.
