SIR draft voter list: EC gives another chance to add names to final electoral roll in 7 states
New Delhi: In a significant development, the Election Commission on Friday announced that voters whose names were not included in the draft list of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) will get another chance to add their names to the final list. The announcement is for Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana and Nagaland.

Issuing a letter to Chief Electoral Officers, the commission said that the BLOs will be required to make every possible effort, along with BLAs of various political parties, to establish contact with such electors.
What did the EC letter say?
“Booth-wise lists of all such electors, who were marked as Absent/Shifted/Dead/Duplicate (ASDD) and whose Enumeration Forms were not received back and consequently who could not be included in the Draft Electoral Roll during the ongoing SIR, shall be displayed afresh (once again) on the Notice Boards of the respective Polling Stations, from where the names were deleted/Panchayat Bhawans/Urban Local Body Offices and the Offices of the Block Development Officers/Panchayat Officers/Urban Local Body Officers and also uploaded on CEO’s website in a readable PDF format, with the probable reasons for non-inclusion of the names of such electors, as done earlier in compliance of Para 2(a) of SIR order dated 14.05.2026,” the notice said.
It added, “The BLOs shall make every possible effort in coordination with concerned BLAs of various political parties to establish contact with such electors through house-to-house visits, enquiries from neighbours/family members/Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and by using available contact numbers, wherever feasible. They shall also guide such electors regarding the procedure and available modes for submission of their Enumeration Forms”.
“An elector who has already submitted Form-6 for fresh enrolment during the SIR need not submit the enumeration form with statement afresh. Their form will be processed as per procedure in accordance with the Commission’s clarification dated 03.11.2026,” the EC added further.
