Razer AVA now targets early 2027: Price and availability so far

Razer AVA is a desktop AI companion built around a 5.5-inch animated display, camera, microphones and speaker. Razer describes the character as a 3D hologram that can talk with users, remember preferences, respond to what is happening on a connected computer and assist with gaming or everyday tasks.

The product is not on general sale. Razer’s current page says AVA is expected to enter Early Access in early 2027, while a limited beta is open only to selected applicants. The company has not announced a final retail price.

How Razer AVA works

The cylindrical device uses dual far-field microphones, an HD camera with an ambient light sensor, a down-firing speaker and customizable lighting. It connects directly to a Windows PC through USB Type-C for both data and power.

Razer says a feature called PC Vision Mode can analyse on-screen content with low latency. That could let AVA explain game lore, discuss item statistics, help with planning, translate conversations or support brainstorming. These functions remain company-described capabilities, and the official page notes that avatar selection and animations are still under development.

What powers the companion

Razer says AVA currently uses advanced large language models for reasoning and personality. The company is building an open architecture intended to support other AI platforms, including a future Razer AI. It has not published a final list of supported models for the commercial release.

Users can choose among personalities named AVA, Sumi and Niko on the current product page. The companion is designed to preserve its memories and personality when its appearance changes, according to Razer.

Availability, cost and privacy

A previously paid $20 reservation deposit remains refundable and will be credited toward the final purchase. That amount is only a deposit, not the device’s price. Razer has not confirmed India pricing or availability.

It has not detailed local versus cloud processing for every function, so prospective buyers should treat broader privacy claims as pending until final product documentation is available.
